The Clermont Chess Club (CCC) is a friendly Non-Profit Organisation of chess lovers who aim to teach, improve, exchange and enjoy the game of chess together. CCC brings chess playing opportunities to the Clermont, KwaDabeka and surrounding communities; these include chess tournaments and weekly chess lessons held in Clermont Library every Thursdays from 3pm to 4pm.

The idea of the Clermont Chess Club was born out of the commitment the executive of the club had to empower the youth of Clermont and other townships so that these areas are not only known for gangsterism and drugs but must also be known as areas that produces good chess players.

The chess club participates in tournaments at the local, regional, provincial and national level as well as holding tournaments in Clermont and other places. Clermont has many fine chess players who used to lack a platform to polish their skills. By 2020 the club will be dedicated in also providing efficient chess-training program in local schools.
